Sonic The Hedgehog 4 revealed!!

The game known by codename as Project Needlemouse has been officially disclosed by Sega as Sonic The Hedgehog 4! The full title is Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode I, so clearly Sega is planning to milk this new turn for the franchise as far as they can, which if the first game turns out amazing, is actually a really good thing. The game is coming out on the Xbox and PS3 on each respective download service, and of course will also hit Wii as a WiiWare title.

The game will be a throwback to the Sonic known to fans on the Sega Genesis but will have 3d models on a 2d plane. I’ve already written too much here, but I am very excited for this outing, brings me back to the Genesis days no doubt, game launches sometime this summer, get ready!! :D

Dementium II hands-on

I’ve never really been good at being brave in horror genre games, and with this series its no exception. I know it’s all just pixelated textures and all but just the environments and overall feeling while playing freaks me out. You can laugh at me I don’t mind, but ever since Resident Evil I haven’t been able to play through scary games, and yes even the Dementium series scares me :P If you love gore and horrific situations, read the hands-on and buy the game when it releases in April.

Nintendo Wii 2010 preview

A very nicely packed 2010 is in store for the Nintendo Wii and I couldn’t be more happier! With many sequels on the way, like Wii Zelda, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Endless Ocean 2, the year is certainly going to be a very good one. With the upcoming release of Monster Hunter Tri I think many Wii owners are getting even more excited, an mmo-like experience on the platform has been severely lacking, and there really is no reason why there hasn’t been any solid efforts up until now. For all these titles and even more jump the link!

Iwata unimpressed with iPad

”It was a bigger iPod Touch. …There were no surprises for me.” I completely agree with Mr. Iwata, it just doesn’t have the same excitement or even any features worth wanting besides the screen real estate or the book store. Mr. Iwata also went on to talk about the successors to the Wii and DS and stated that 3D gaming isn’t something people would want due to playing for long periods of time and that they’d look silly to other people. I wonder if he realizes how funny people look waving Wii Remotes :P

Finally Mr. Iwata goes on to say that they are hard at work on the successors, but doubts that HD and motion sensing would be enough to warrant customers purchasing more hardware. All this talk on what should interest consumers is getting me excited for what Nintendo is planning next!

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars is out tomorrow!

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars, I’m not the biggest fighting game fan but even this game has me completely psyched! I don’t know if its the fact that we’re getting a very Japanese title localized, or the fact that this game is exclusive to the Wii, or even both. All I know is I want to get my hands on it as soon as possible! There was a very nice launch event over in New York at the Nintendo World store on the 23rd, if I lived there I’d totally be there all day :P Well any way, enough of me praising the title, read the review for yourself and be sure to pick up a copy tomorrow!

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle review

From Suda 51 comes the sequel to the much loved original No More Heroes. The sequel No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle takes the original design and makes it more streamlined and delivers with explosive action and even retro style challenges to boot! Camera issues still persist from the original during boss fights, but overall the game is a very nice improvement and I think everyone should at least rent the title. Monster Rancher DS hands-on

I remember playing this series back when it came out on the PSX, it was actually pretty darn fun. You could summon monsters by swapping with any disc you had lying around and it would generate them randomly. With this new DS entry, this is done by either drawing something with your stylus or by talking into the microphone for a few seconds. So far it seems like a nicely done game, launch date for NA is in March.

Endless Ocean: Blue World screens

To be honest, I’m actually pretty excited for this game, not only will the explorable areas be much larger, but we also get the ability to go diving with friends and use WiiSpeak! and another big bonus is that you’ll be able to take pictures and save them to an SD card. If you’re at all interested, follow the link to some new screenshots posted by IGN.

Nintendo has disclosed the launch date of the literally largest DS iteration. It’ll be launching in Europe on March 5th but no pricepoint has been discussed yet. It remains to be seen when we’ll know how soon we’ll get our DS XL’s in NA, and the same can be said for Australia.
